I just returned from my first conference in years. And while I really do hate to knock Zoom—the platform was a lifeline for industry events since March 2020—it’s impossible to ignore the fact that there’s nothing like being together in person.
No more faces frozen in odd contortions or voices reminiscent of Max Headroom. Actual pants (or skirts) below the waist. The sound of other people laughing at the same time as me (curse you, silent webinars and mics on mute!).
And—I never thought I’d say this—swag.
So for those who’ve ventured beyond their monitors to a real-life exhibit hall or after-hours Irish pub (Insights Association Annual Conference—you know who you are), it was a thrill doing business with you. Personally speaking.
